Cooby Wines
At Cooby Wines we focus on producing small volumes of the finest wines and ageing them for your enjoyment. This allows us to produce quality wines that are ready for your enjoyment.
Most wine lovers don't either have a cellar or the time to cellar wines. At Cooby Wines we take all the hassle out of this process and do all the work for you.
Ripe grapes, the best yeasts and the finest quality oak is always used. Minimal chemicals and preservatives are used throughout the process to maximise varietal flavors. You can't make great wine from poor grapes so we focus on growing the very best grapes possible.
At Cooby Wines not only do we grow all our own grapes we also make all wines on site in our boutique winery.
Our vineyard and winery is located 20km north of Toowoomba.

Our family and experience
We have over 25 combined years experience in 4 and 5 star hotels throughout Australia and the Pacific. During this time we held a range of management positions many of which included food and beverage management.
Over the years I have gained experience in several vineyards and wineries in Queensland, the Hunter Valley, Western NSW and South Australia's Coonawarra.
For 5 years I was employed as Queensland's principal wine industry development officer. This was an extremely rewarding role that was developed to support, promote, educate and grow the Queensland wine industry.
Over the years I have been either a judge or an associate judge at several wine shows including The Australian Small Winemakers Show, Winestate Magazine, Cairns Wine Show, The Royal Queensland Wine Show, Queensland Wine Awards, Toowoomba Wine Show and Brisbane Wine festival.
For three years I was employed as a contract Viticulture teacher with Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE undertaking residential courses at Stanthorpe's College of Wine Tourism and in vineyards across the state.

Formal Training
Following school, I was lucky to secure a corporate management position within the hotel industry. I completed formal studies in Hotel Business Management.
Whilst I have very fond memories of my hotel days, wine has always been my passion. About 20 years ago I enrolled into Charles Sturt University to study an "Associate Degree in Winegrowing" once this was completed I then went on to complete a Science degree focusing on Viticulture and Winemaking.
After graduating at Charles Stuart University I was accepted into the science masters program at Western Sydney University and a few years later completed my "Master in Wine Quality".
